Inspiration for this post comes from the Fixed Gear Gallery, a site I've been checking daily for well over a year now. And although I love this bike and depend on it for my daily commute and general sense of well being I don't think it has the bling that a lot of the bikes over there have. But, of course, it's good enough to show off right here.
2006 Specialized Langster. It's all stock except for the: 16T Surly cog, Koobi Au Chrono saddle, Nashbar time trial bars, Cane Creek TT brake lever and the custom handmade (by me, today) top tube pad.

Notice the foam plumbing tubing protruding from my bag. Today in class all I could think about was going to the hardware store to buy it.

how did you make the top tube pad? where did you buy the supplies
hey ben, not sure if you'll ever find this comment...but if you do.....
the foam pad is plumbing insulation that you can find at any hardware store. if you're the Ben i think you might be then you live in stockholm.....if so, you can get this at Clas Ohlsen.
I bought the material from a fabric shop. I found the strongest looking/feeling stuff that they had. I couldn't find any courdura (however it's spelled) anywhere for sale.
then i did my best to sew the fabric around the foam but i ended up using a lot of glue and some electrical tape.
took probably 2 hours to do it all with lots of trial and error in the sewing dept.
good luck!
just remembered, i also bought some velcro...can't forget the velcro!
thanks man! i'm not the ben you're thinking of but i found your blog through hours of searching on google. weird how that works.
i ended up finding some plumbimg tube insulation stuff and tied a bandana around it. hah
your blog helped!
glad it worked out!
