Ok, enough with the new blogging formats. My brain is about to explode. The thought of completely redesigning this site coupled with implementing new blogging software is unrealistic at this time. So I'm going to squash it for a bit and take it at a later time.
Last night after a good 2 hour session of reading up on Movable Type and all of its options and open-sourceness I sat down to watch a movie you all know and love, The Wizard of Oz. Swedish Television (SVT) played the movie at 10:30 last night (a Thursday). SVT doesn't overdub any foreign programs or films; they use Swedish subtitles at the bottom of the screen. I'm really really thankful for this because although overdubbing can make programs more accessable to all of a country's viewers, it obviously changes the whole feel of it. But then again, small kids who can't read yet simply miss out on these types of films, hence the fact that The Wizard of Oz was on a 10:30PM on a weeknight.
Now I didn't make it through the whole movie nor did I intend on it. I basically wanted to catch a 30 second bit in the opening Munchkin Land scene, which I could've just loaded up on youtube:
This is my favorite bit in the movie; always has been. Unfortunately I couldn't find a good clip that shows the Lollipop Guild staggering up to Dorthy. That short strut they do is magic.
Randy gave it a good shot though:
And finally, here's a little insight into the munchkins. This clip includes the Lollipop Guild's famous strut and a little background info:
And has anyone tried the experiment of playing Dark Side of the Moon along with The Wizard of Oz? Did it work? Worth it? Weird?
